About us – Elite Precast Concrete

As manufacturers of precast concrete interlocking blocks, walling, blast, security barriers, service protection, drainage, construction, fencing and electric vehicle solutions, Elite Precast Concrete has established relationships with Network Rail, National Highways, housebuilders, water companies, contractors and builder’ merchants, delivering to civil and infrastructure projects across the UK, including HS2, major motorways, the Olympic and Commonwealth Games, the Millennium Stadium and Hampden Park, Buckingham Palace and Hinckley Point.

Formed in 2008, by Richard Doody and Alan Johnson, Elite Precast Concrete began manufacturing precast concrete products near the market town of Much Wenlock in Shropshire.

By 2010, the need for larger manufacturing premises led to a move to Telford. The company has since expanded, acquiring 100,000 square feet of manufacturing and storage space.

In December 2022, Elite Precast sold 75% of its shares to Lloyds Animal Feeds (LAF Holdings) in partnership with Richard Doody. This partnership aims to develop new products and sectors while maintaining the core values of customer service, short lead times, quality products and stakeholder satisfaction.

Today, the Elite team has over 200 years of precasting experience and users this to develop new products into existing and new markets.

We prioritise sustainable and ethical decisions, using responsibly sourced, energy-efficient and environmentally friendly materials. We manufacture long-lasting, recyclable, or reusable products and comply with relevant codes of practice and legislation. Our environmental management policy focuses on reducing pollution and waste, promoting recycling and efficient use of water and energy.

Social Value

Elite supports the community by partnering with local charities and clubs, employing locally and donating products for community projects. We support local food banks, raise funds for various charities and sponsor local sporting clubs.

Over 90% of the team is locally employed, we offer apprenticeships and work experience opportunities.

Ethics

With 100% of concrete products made in Shropshire, we believe in paying our suppliers on time to ensure a clean supply chain, where everyone is happy. We pay our taxes and look to support our local communities in employment and belong to the Shropshire Chamber of Commerce, as well as the Mineral Products Association.

Our products are made to the relevant British and Industry Standards, with many made to last over 100 years and as full members of the MPA (Mineral Products Association) – the trade association for the aggregates, asphalt, cement, concrete, dimension stone, lime, mortar and silica sand industries, as such, we are committed to best practice, sustainability and the sharing of knowledge, to ensure the future of the industry.
